Proposal for GPON Installation Hotusa Hotel
1. GPON Network Architecture Overview
This network design leverages Televes & Huawei’s GPON solution with the following components:
- FortiGate-70F Firewall
- Televes OLT512EVO module GPON
- Optical 1:64 Splitter
- AirEngine5773-21 WAP
- ONU 3 PoE+ 50W 4xGbE+2xFXS+RF (no integrated ap)
- PON Ports: 8xPON + 4xGbE ports + 4x10GbE/GbE (SFP+) + 2xGbE (administration ports)
- User Capacity: Up to 512 users
- Installation Site: Central technical room (MDF)
- Uplink: 10GE to core network (switch or router)
- Splitter Ratio: 1:64 (used as 1:38 for signal margin and future scalability)
- Location: One racks per 5 floors in a designated telecom room
- Fiber Distribution: 1 incoming fiber from OLT; 38 / 39 outgoing fibers to rooms
- Interfaces: E4x TH 10/100/1000BASE-T Ports + 2x FXS Ports + 1x USB
- Location: One unit in each hotel room
- AccesPoints: One per 2 units in hotel room
- Connected Services:
- VOIP (via POTS ports or LAN)
- IPTV (via LAN / multicast)
3. Network Topology
- OLT installed in the main distribution frame (MDF)
- 8 PON ports, each linked to a splitter serving up to 5 floors
- Uplink connection to core network/router via 10G
Floor Distribution (per 5 floors):
- 1 x Optical splitter
(Rack-mounted Splitter)
- ONT 3 POE installed in each room to serve all required services
- Acces Points installed 1 per 2 rooms
4. Redundancy and Capacity Planning
- Split ratio kept at 1:38 / 39 to ensure:
- Improved optical signal margin
- Better QoS for VoIP and IPTV
- Future upgrade potential

Phase 1 – Planning & Preparation:
Phase 2 – Installation:
- Mount OLT
- Lay fiber to each splitter rack (per 8 floors)
- Install splitters and run fibers to rooms
- Install ONTs in guest rooms
- Install Access Points
- Install hardware Access Points controller
Phase 3 – Configuration:
- Configure VLANs for Internet, IPTV, and VOIP
- Configure OLT
- Provision ONTs (manually or via ACS/iManager)
- Enable QoS, multicast, and NAT as needed
- Configure hardware Access Points controller
Phase 4 – Testing & Handover:
- Optical signal testing per ONT
- Functional testing for all services
- Documentation and network diagram delivery
- Access to modems, routers and switches
